Preview of Upcoming Big Games in March Across Europe

It’s a new month, March is here! Traditionally known as the month of the international break, it’s still uncertain whether domestic leagues will break for international games this year. This is due to travel restrictions in several countries due to the coronavirus pandemic. But whether the international fixtures go ahead as planned or not, there are a number of exciting domestic fixtures across Europe to look forward to.

Let’s look at some of the upcoming big games in March across Europe.

EPL- England

These are some of the exciting fixtures to expect in March in the EPL:

●      Monday, 1st March: Everton vs. Southampton (Goodison Park)

●      Thursday, 4th March: Fulham vs. Tottenham Hotspur (Craven Cottage)

●      Thursday, 4th March: Liverpool vs. Chelsea (Anfield)

●      Sunday, 7th March: Manchester City vs. Manchester United (Etihad Stadium)

●      Monday, 8th March: Chelsea vs. Everton (Stamford Bridge)

●      Saturday, 13th March: Leeds vs. Chelsea (Elland Road)

●      Sunday, 14th March: Arsenal vs. Tottenham Hotspur (Emirates Stadium)

The FA Cup quarterfinals will also be played in March, with games scheduled for 20th and 21st March. On Saturday 20th March, Bournemouth will host Southampton and Manchester City will travel to Goodison to face off with Everton. Chelsea vs. Sheffield United and Leicester City vs. Manchester United are scheduled for Sunday 21st March.

La Liga- Spain

In Spain, these are some of the fixtures to look forward to:

●      Monday, 1st March: Real Madrid vs. Real Sociedad (Alfredo di Stéfano Stadium)

●      Friday, 5th March: Valencia vs. Villareal (Estadio de Mestalla)

●      Sunday, 14th March: Atletico Madrid vs. Real Madrid (Wanda Metropolitano)

●      Wednesday, 10th March: Atletico Madrid vs. Athletic Bilbao (Wanda Metropolitano)

Bundesliga- Germany

In Bundesliga, Bayern Munich will look to extend its lead with fixtures against Borussia Dortmund (6th), Werder Bremen (13th), and Stuttgart (20th).

Other notable fixtures include B. Monchengladbach vs. Bayer Leverkusen (6th), RBLeipzig vs. Eintracht Frankfurt (14th), FC Koln vs. Borussia Dortmund, Schalke vs. B. Monchengladbach, and Werder Bremen vs. Wolfsburg (all on 20th).

There are exciting games that will be coming up in Ligue 1 and Serie A as well. Inter Milan, AC Milan, and Juventus will renew their title charge while Roma pushes for a Champions League place. Not to mention that the second leg of the Champions League and the first leg of the Europa League Round  of16s will take place this month. The highlight of the action on the European stage will be Barcelona trying to overturn a heavy first-leg defeat against PSG.
